Vestergapet

What a view, what colors after a beautiful sunset, seen at Flekkerøy highest point. Just been taken photos of the sunset, and then amazed by the cloud formations and the yellow colors.

Vestergapet is the ship entrance and exit from the west to Kristiansand. In the far west you see to Ryvingen lighthouse.

This image is a High Density Range (HDR) picture, where tree pictures with different exposure have been merged into one frame.  This technic gives a depth in all shades of all colors, from the brightest to the darkest.

Sunset on the rocks

Set up the camera far out on the rocks, here at Bestemorsmed at Flekkerøy gives a beautiful effect.  The rocks in the foreground catch the eye and lead you to the sun that is to set in the background.  This is an optical trick to give a deep perspective to the image.

Twilight

Just after sunset, in the twilight, there are some amazingly beautiful colors, like here at Flekkerøy, in March 2016. This evening I went out to take pictures of the sunset and sat here in my own thoughts when my dog suddenly began to bark. It's quite unusual for him to be, so I got a bit scared.  Fortunately, it was just a nice philosophy student who was out on the evening tour and who came into us a little too quietly on us both. But, it became a nice photochat, so we almost forgot the whole sunset and what happened around us. But it was only after sunset and I was on my way home that I saw this motive.

Ship in the sunset

I went out to Flekkerøy to both watch the sunset and see the moon rise, the supermoon.  An very especial experience, to watch theese two elements on one side go done, for in the next minute the other one rise up of the horizon.  I become spiritual in moments like this, when the silence is more or less to touch.  Everyting in the nature, birds, animals even wind and waves become quiet.

Supermoon

For so, ten minutes later, see the supermoon rise up behind the mountains, while the nature is quiet, clouds are blown away and everything, sea and sky gets this distinctive blue color.

Then I become somewhat disloyal to mind. In all my loneliness when I stand out here, only with company of my dog, I get the feeling of being part of something far greater, a harmony, a creation. The sun is sinking into the ocean, as the moon rises, the nature that praises the event. No, I do not think this happened by accidental explosion. I have many questions and need good explanations, but when I see the perfect harmony these events are followed by, nature itself is the strongest testimony that there is a creator, a God.
