Kringsjå Birch

white birch trunk with yellows leaves

Such rake and stray birch, standing close together, either like Otra or along a road, has always attracted me and I have long time looked for such a motive to take a picture of. In the autumn of 2014 I found these at Kringsjå in Vennesla municipality. The area here at Kringsjå is a favorite hiking and leisure area, and attracts everything from keen joggers, families with children, but not at least a few of us hobby photographers.

The best known hiking trail in the area is perhaps to walk the famous timber rains to Kringsjå, up from Steinsfoss power plant and here at Kringsjå. The Norwegian Tourist Association in south has made a website about this hiking trail. Others are riding bicycles, and National Bicycle Route No. 3 passes by Kringsjå Power Station.

I some ask if I sell pictures, and it's always nice if someone wants to have one or more of my pictures on their wall. And, of course, it is possible to customize both size and format, but convert pictures to black white format. As you see some examples of here.

With one, impressions, the story of the image, the actual experience differently than the full-size image. Had I had a cabin, I would like to put such a picture over the couch. The color of the image slides easily into the natural panel, but also with trendy earth colors like brown or gray shades.

By tinting down colors and transforming the image into black & white, the photography gets a completely different message, dissemination and experience. The atmosphere becomes dramatic, perhaps heavy-hearted, but clearly a motive that brings thoughts into nature, the drama and the struggle to survive.
